University of Basrah Organizes Workshop on the Reality of Urban Transportation
The Basra and Arabian Gulf Studies Center at the University of Basrah, in cooperation with the Center for Development and Continuing Education, organized a workshop entitled "The Reality of Urban Transportation in Al-Qurna City."
The workshop aimed to highlight the current state of the urban transportation network in Al-Qurna City and to identify the most prominent challenges facing the transportation sector and their impact on traffic flow and the daily lives of residents.
The workshop, presented by lecturer Amjad Yasser Abdul-Ridha, included a discussion of the problems plaguing the city, including the deterioration of the urban transportation network, poor traffic management, and limited infrastructure. The workshop also addressed the narrowness and poor maintenance of some streets, as well as the lack of street furniture such as traffic signs, directional signs, and warning signs, which leads to traffic congestion and bottlenecks, especially in vital commercial areas.
