Researchers from University of Basrah Publish First Review Paper in the Prestigious American Publisher (ACS)
In a significant academic achievement that further strengthens the position of Iraqi scientific research in international forums, a joint research team from University of Basrah, in collaboration with Peking University in China, has successfully published a high-impact review paper on a breakthrough in hydrogen storage and clean energy in the international journal Energy & Fuels, issued by the renowned American Chemical Society (ACS).
The study addressed the development of sensors and nanomaterials, specifically metal nitrides and borides, to enhance hydrogen storage efficiency. It demonstrated that precisely tuning the hydrogen binding energy within the range of (−0.2 to −0.6 eV) ensures safe, efficient, and reversible storage.
The paper further highlighted the latest strategies adopted to improve the performance of hydrogen storage materials, which are considered a cornerstone in the transition toward clean and sustainable energy systems.
