University of Basrah Innovates Collaborative Methods to Diversify Clinical Training Locations for Veterinary Medicine Students
In a promising step aimed at enhancing the academic and practical environment, the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Basrah has initiated the expansion and diversification of clinical training opportunities for its students and graduates. This has been achieved through the establishment of new training sites, ensuring that educational outcomes align with the demands of the Iraqi labor market.
This initiative is part of the college's ongoing efforts to diversify practical training locations for fourth- and fifth-year students, and to meet the national program accreditation standards for veterinary medicine colleges in Iraq.
In this regard, the college administration announced the signing of two strategic memoranda of understanding, resulting in the official accreditation of two new sites. Site No. 4 is located in the Qurna district (Al-Sharsh area), while Site No. 5 is located in the Shatt al-Arab district.
The Dean of the College, Dr. Jalal Yassin Mustafa, emphasized that this achievement represents a fundamental pillar for achieving quality standards in higher education and activating the university's role in serving the community by strengthening direct communication between the academic institution and the surrounding community. This transitional step also aims to refine the practical skills of graduates and students, directly preparing them to meet the needs of the veterinary labor market in the governorate.
