University of Basrah Holds Lecture on Professional Ethics for the Education Specialization
The Center for Development and Continuing Education at the University of Basrah, Unit Six of its eighth Teaching Methods course, held a lecture on professional ethics for the updated curriculum of the education specialization.
The lecture, presented by Dr. Amal Mahdi Jabr, included a definition of multidisciplinary professional ethics and an explanation of the qualities and characteristics of a teacher.
It also emphasized the ethics of teaching, stressing that an instructor must be self-reliant and that an academic title should not be a personal achievement. Furthermore, it addressed the issue of teachers not refusing to teach, as this harms students and future generations by setting a precedent for others, and the importance of dedication and service in all circumstances.
