A PhD dissertation at the College of Education for Humanities at the University of Basrah examined "The Khorasani Companions of the Imams (peace be upon them) and Their Role in Preserving Islamic Heritage."
The dissertation, submitted by researcher Nawfal Shaiba Hamza al-Musawi, aimed to study the role of the Khorasani companions of the Imams (peace be upon them) in preserving Islamic heritage, specifically the sciences of the Ahl al-Bayt (the Prophet's family). It also sought to highlight their scholarly standing and their methods of transmitting narrations on various religious, political, social, and scientific topics.
The dissertation included a study of the geographical distribution and scholarly status of these narrators, and highlighted the Khorasani narrations in various scholarly works relied upon by authors, thus contributing to the dissemination of these sciences within the Muslim community.
The dissertation concluded that the scholarly and hadith-related role of the Khorasani companions of the Imams constituted a fundamental pillar in preserving, documenting, and transmitting Islamic heritage across diverse centers of learning.
