University of Basrah Holds Course on the Correctness of the Arabic Language
The Center for Development and Continuing Education at the University of Basra held a training course entitled "The Correctness of the Arabic Language," with the participation of a number of faculty members, staff, and those interested in linguistic matters.
The course aimed to enhance correct writing skills and identify common errors in official and academic correspondence.
The course, presented by Dr. Abbas Abdul-Aziz Sayhood, covered topics including spelling, morphology, syntax, rules for writing the hamza, distinguishing between the ta' marbuta and ta' maftuha, the differences between the letters dad and dha', as well as lessons on the subject and predicate, "kana" and "inna" and their sisters, and punctuation marks.
The course recommended the necessity of promoting a culture of correct language in the professional and academic environment.
