University of Basrah Organizes Workshop on the Dewey Decimal Classification System
The College of Law at the University of Basrah organized a workshop on the Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) system and its importance in library organization.
The workshop aimed to introduce library classification, book organization, and the arrangement of knowledge resources on shelves according to their subject matter to facilitate access.
The workshop included a lecture presented by faculty member Ali Muhayr Kareem, who explained that the Dewey Decimal Classification is the most widely used system, dividing human knowledge into 10 main categories (000-900), each of which is further subdivided using decimal numbers.
