Doctoral Dissertation at the University of Basrah Examines the Grammatical Principles Adopted by the Commentators on Al-Mutanabbi’s Diwan
A doctoral dissertation at the College of Education for Human Sciences, University of Basrah, examined “The Principles of Grammatical Interpretation Adopted by the Commentators on Al-Mutanabbi’s Diwan.”
The dissertation, presented by researcher Ali Saad Ghalib, aimed to investigate the principles adopted by the commentators on Al-Mutanabbi’s Diwan in interpreting grammatical phenomena, elucidating the syntactic analyses and linguistic interpretations of his verses, and identifying the grammatical methodologies they employed in their treatment of Al-Mutanabbi’s poetry, as well as the principles underpinning their approaches to grammatical interpretation and syntactic analysis.
The dissertation analyzed the grammatical rationales upon which the commentators relied in explaining poetic structures, examined the linguistic tools they employed, and explored the methodological frameworks through which these commentaries interpreted the syntactic construction of the poetic texts.
The dissertation concluded that the grammatical principles and rules adopted by the commentators played a fundamental role in interpreting Al-Mutanabbi’s poetic structures. Their systematic and effective methodology made a significant contribution to clarifying syntactic analyses and establishing accurate linguistic interpretation of the poetic text.
