The University of Basrah convoy departed from Basrah to the holy city of Karbala to participate in the Arbaeen pilgrimage of Imam Hussein (Peace Be Upon Him).
The President of the University, Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kadhim Al-Asadi, stated that the University had allocated modern buses to provide free transportation for faculty members, staff, and students wishing to perform the pilgrimage to Imam Hussein (Peace Be Upon Him).
Dr. Al-Asadi added that the University had provided all the necessary logistical support for the convoy, which will participate in the annual procession of Iraqi university convoys on their designated day.
He further noted that the convoy is accompanied by a medical team from the University’s health-related colleges, offering free medical examinations, immediate treatment for pilgrims, and the transfer of emergency cases to nearby hospitals whenever necessary.
The University of Basrah convoy annually participates in the Unified Mourning Procession of Iraqi University Students, attended by the University President, the Assistant Presidents for Administrative and Scientific Affairs, and the Deans of the Colleges. The procession brings together university delegations from across Iraq in a unified march toward the Holy Shrines, during which participants express their grief and remembrance of the tragic events of Al-Taff.
