University of Basrah Joins the International Society for Plasticization, a First for Iraq and the Arab World
The University of Basrah has achieved an unprecedented scientific milestone at both the local and Arab levels with the membership of Dr. Alaa Abdul-Khaliq, a faculty member in the College of Veterinary Medicine, in the International Society for Plasticization (ISP). He is the first academic and researcher from Iraq and the Arab world to join this prestigious international scientific body.
Dr. Abdul-Khaliq stated that the International Society for Plasticization is a leading global academic institution in the fields of anatomy and modern applications. It comprises a select group of scientists, researchers, and specialists from major universities and research centers in Europe, America, and around the world, all working to develop advanced techniques for preserving and manufacturing anatomical and histological models.
This scientific achievement aligns with the vision of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, which aims to support national talent and facilitate the integration of Iraqi academics into international specialized organizations and societies, thereby strengthening the position of Iraqi universities on the global academic map.
