Master's Thesis at the University of Basrah Explores Metaphor in Digital Art and its Relationship to Contemporary Art
A master's thesis at the College of Fine Arts, University of Basrah, explored "Metaphor in Digital Art and its Relationship to Contemporary Art."
The thesis, submitted by researcher Hassan Raheem Manea, aimed to identify the intellectual, artistic, and aesthetic foundations of metaphor and its manifestations in contemporary digital art.
The thesis highlighted the aesthetics of metaphor in modern art, deconstructing the aesthetics of contemporary digital visual production by identifying aesthetic symbols drawn from classical art and employing modern technologies within the structure of contemporary works.
The thesis concluded that metaphor in digital art expresses the aesthetic dimension through the relationship that contemporary art shares with the classical heritage, a relationship evident in all the sampled works, as well as the openness of experimental artistic practice.
