University of Basrah Doctoral Dissertation Examines the Impact of Contextual Factors on Entrepreneurial Behaviour
A doctoral dissertation at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Basrah, examined the impact of contextual factors on entrepreneurial behaviour through the serial mediation of cognitive factors and the moderating role of innovative self-efficacy, as part of a longitudinal study in the Iraqi higher education sector.
The dissertation, submitted by researcher Akram Sami Fayez, aimed to develop an explanatory framework illustrating the mechanisms underlying the development of entrepreneurial behaviour and the relationships among its variables over time. It examined the direct and indirect effects of contextual factors, analysed the serial mediating role of cognitive factors, and tested the moderating role of innovative self-efficacy.
The findings revealed significant effects among the study variables.
The dissertation recommended strengthening a university environment that supports entrepreneurship and innovation, as well as developing educational and training programmes to foster entrepreneurial capabilities among postgraduate students.
