Faculty Member at the University of Basrah Publishes Research in an International Journal
Dr. Ghaydaa Abdul-Razzaq Al-Suhail, a faculty member in the College of Engineering at the University of Basrah, published a scientific paper in the German journal The Visual Computer (Springer Nature) International Journal.
The research discussed an enhanced hybrid framework for deep learning to detect oil spills in coastal images captured by drones. This framework aims to monitor environmental pollution and develop smart technologies for detecting and monitoring oil leaks and spills in coastal and port waters using drone image analysis. The research relies on deep learning and computer vision techniques to extract visual features and accurately identify oil slicks.
