Faculty Members at the University of Basrah Publish Research in a Prestigious International Journal
Dr. Halim Kadhim Hussein and Dr. Farid Hamid Majeed, faculty members at the College of Engineering, University of Basrah, published a scientific paper in the Civil Engineering Journal entitled "An Experimental Study of Cold-Formed Steel Bridges of Different Shapes under Static Loads."
The research discussed the development of an economical and rapid-implementation structural system for bridges using composite beams made of cold-formed steel, which are a promising alternative to traditional beams. This system is based on integrating cold-formed steel plates with a reinforced concrete slab.
