University of Basrah Council Holds its First Session for the 2026-2027 Academic Year
The University of Basrah Council, chaired by Dr. Aqeel Fadhil Al-Dahhan, held its first morning session for the 2026-2027 academic year. The session was attended by the Vice Presidents for Scientific and Administrative Affairs, the Secretary of the Council, and its members.
The session opened with a discussion of the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, as well as the University Presidency's vision for developing academic work and enhancing scientific research.
During the meeting, the agenda was reviewed, which included discussions on scientific and administrative affairs, mechanisms for developing scientific research, and several approved cases concerning postgraduate and undergraduate students, in accordance with ministerial regulations and instructions.
Dr. Al-Dahhan stated that the University is making steady progress towards achieving comprehensive academic quality, and that the outcomes of the Council's periodic meeting were aimed at enhancing the efficiency of administrative and academic performance and propelling scientific research to the ranks of world-class universities.
