University of Basrah Explores Strengthening Agricultural and Academic Cooperation with China
The Dean of the College of Agriculture at the University of Basrah, Dr. Sarmad Ghazi Mohammed Al-Shawi, met with the Consul General of the People's Republic of China in Basra Governorate, Mr. Chen Peizhong, to discuss ways to enhance academic, scientific, and training cooperation between the two sides. Several faculty members from the college were also present.
The meeting addressed the evaluation of the training program in which faculty members participated in China, discussed the development of future programs, and explored the implementation of joint research and applied projects, particularly a project to combat desertification in Basra Governorate and benefit from Chinese expertise and experience in this field.
Both sides emphasized the importance of continued coordination and scientific exchange, which contributes to the development of the agricultural sector and strengthens academic and research partnerships between scientific institutions.
