University of Basrah Explores Argumentation Patterns in Selected Quranic Stories
A master's thesis at the College of Education for Humanities at the University of Basrah explored "Argumentation Patterns in Selected Quranic Stories."
The thesis, submitted by researcher Intizar Khairi Jassim Al-Mayahi, identified the most frequently used argumentation patterns in the story of Prophet Moses (peace be upon him), examined their pragmatic roles in Quranic discourse, and explored their contribution to enhancing persuasive power, analyzing them within a modern theoretical framework.
The study concluded that the systematic analysis of argumentation patterns is crucial for enriching the fields of Quranic linguistics and pragmatics. It demonstrated their ability to solidify meanings and highlight the persuasive power of Quranic narratives, while also providing an analytical framework to assist researchers in studying religious and literary texts.
