Master’s Thesis at the University of Basrah Investigates the Comparative Protective Effects of Basrah Bee Honey
A Master’s thesis at the College of Pharmacy, University of Basrah, investigated the comparative protective effects of Basrah bee honey and N-acetylcysteine against citalopram-induced hepatotoxicity in rats.
The thesis, presented by student Hassan Ali Lafta, aimed to compare and investigate the anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects of Basrah bee honey and N-acetylcysteine, both individually and in combination, against citalopram-induced hepatotoxicity in rats.
The thesis comprised four chapters, in which the researcher examined the effects of citalopram, an antidepressant medication, in causing liver damage in rats through oxidative stress and inflammatory response mechanisms.
