University of Basrah Master’s Thesis Investigates Novel Hydroxylamine Derivatives
A Master’s thesis at the College of Pharmacy, University of Basrah, investigated the preparation and characterization of novel pharmaceutical hydroxylamine derivatives.
The thesis, presented by student Mohammed Abbas Hussein, aimed to design and synthesize novel hydroxylamine and nitrone derivatives derived from tinidazole, characterize them chemically, and evaluate their antibacterial activity.
The thesis comprised four chapters, in which the researcher discussed the preparation of a novel hydroxylamine derivative from the drug tinidazole. Six new nitrone derivatives were subsequently synthesized using substituted aromatic aldehydes.
