University of Basrah Explores the Multifunctional Use of Morphological Forms in the Poetry of Sayyid Haydar al-Hilli
A master's thesis at the College of Education for Humanities at the University of Basrah explored "The Multifunctional Use of Morphological Forms: A Selection of the Diwan of Haydar al-Hilli."
The thesis, submitted by student Muhammad Mudhaffar Wadi, highlighted the phenomenon of the multifunctional use of a single morphological form and its applications in the Diwan of the poet Sayyid Haydar al-Hilli. The aim was to reveal the flexibility of Arabic morphology and the breadth of its meanings, refuting the stereotypical view that describes it as difficult and complex.
The study concluded that the Diwan of Sayyid Haydar al-Hilli is replete with distinctive and creative uses of a single morphological form, encompassing rare and unusual usages. Furthermore, it uniquely employs forms in ways not found in traditional or modern morphological texts.
