University of Basrah Launches the Second International Conference on Applied Life Sciences (ICAB 2026)
The activities of the Second International Conference on Applied Life Sciences (ICAB 2026) commenced on Wednesday morning in Basrah, with the opening ceremony chaired by the President of the University of Basrah, Prof. Dr. Aqeel Fadhil Hamad Al-Dahan, in the presence of the Assistant Presidents for Scientific and Administrative Affairs, along with a distinguished group of specialized researchers and academics.
This year’s conference is being held under the theme, “New Horizons in Applied Life Sciences: Towards Smart and Sustainable Solutions,” reflecting the longstanding tradition of academic and research collaboration and the University of Basrah’s commitment to advancing scientific knowledge and offering innovative solutions to life-related and environmental challenges.
In his opening address, the University President emphasized the importance of harnessing scientific research and biological innovations to develop smart and sustainable solutions that serve society and support environmental protection. He also noted that the University of Basrah is committed to supporting such international academic events, which open new horizons for intellectual and technological advancement.
Over the course of two days, the conference will feature intensive research and discussion sessions showcasing the latest scientific achievements and applied studies across various fields of life sciences. The event will bring together a wide range of researchers to exchange expertise and enhance academic skills.
