President of the University of Basrah Welcomes MP Ali Shaddad Al-Faris and the Head of the Bar Association to Discuss Academic and Legislative Cooperation
The President of the University of Basrah, Dr. Aqeel Fadhil Hamad Al-Dahhan, welcomed in his office today Iraqi Member of Parliament Ali Shaddad Al-Faris, the Head of the Basra Bar Association, Attorney Ahmed Sharhan, and their accompanying delegations.
The visitors congratulated Dr. Al-Dahhan on his appointment as President of the University, wishing him success in advancing the educational landscape. The meeting addressed ways to strengthen cooperation between the legislative body and the university, and discussed parliamentary laws and legislative solutions to support research and academic initiatives.
The meeting also touched upon a proposed partnership and integration with the oil sector in the governorate to utilize young academic talent, in addition to providing support to address the shortage of teaching staff and facilitate the opening of new departments.
For his part, the University President expressed his gratitude to the delegations, emphasizing the university's commitment to expanding cooperation with all institutions in service of the academic process and the community.
