University of Basrah Holds Introductory Workshop on the Functions of the Science and Technology Parks Department
The Science and Technology Parks Department at the University of Basrah organized an introductory workshop highlighting the department’s functions, objectives, and mission, as well as its role in fostering an academic and innovative environment within the university’s colleges.
The workshop featured a series of scientific and explanatory lectures delivered by Dr. Dalal Nasser Munshid and Marwa Mohammed Abdul-Zahra. The lectures provided a comprehensive overview of the key principles underpinning this academic and research specialization.
The workshop addressed the concept of science and technology parks, the origins of the term, and the development of the idea over time. It also explained the reasons behind the establishment of the department by the Ministry, aiming to dispel misconceptions and clarify the fundamental principles underlying its establishment.
The workshop concluded with an overview of the department’s administrative structure and its four affiliated divisions, in addition to a discussion of the coordination mechanisms adopted with the university’s colleges and the responsibilities of the technology incubator units operating within them.
