University of Basrah Explores Cooperation with Umm Qasr Northern Port Administration
The University of Basrah explored opportunities for joint cooperation with the administration of Umm Qasr Northern Port during a visit by a delegation from the College of Agriculture, headed by the Dean of the College, Dr. Sarmad Ghazi Mohammed Al-Shawi, and accompanied by several professors from the Agricultural Consultancy Office and heads of scientific departments. The delegation was received by the Port Director, Captain Salim Jabbar Hussein.
The delegation toured the port’s facilities and reviewed its operational capabilities. Both sides discussed prospects for future partnerships, particularly the organization of specialized training courses for port employees delivered by the Agricultural Consultancy Office, the Port Director’s membership in the College’s Industrial Advisory Council, the implementation of afforestation projects to improve the environmental and aesthetic conditions, and the commissioning of the University to conduct laboratory tests and consultancy projects.
