University of Basrah Organizes Training Course on the Fundamentals of Microbiology
The College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Basrah organized a training course on the fundamentals of microbiology, covering the process from sample collection and culture media preparation to bacterial cultivation.
The course aimed to train postgraduate students in the basic techniques used in microbiology laboratories.
The course featured theoretical and practical lectures delivered by faculty members from the Department of Microbiology. Students received hands-on training in collecting various types of samples, preparing culture media, and applying bacterial culture techniques to obtain pure isolates for subsequent identification.
The course recommended organizing similar training programmes on a regular basis for postgraduate students, given their importance in preparing them to work effectively and accurately in the laboratory, thereby enabling them to obtain more reliable results with less effort and in a shorter time.
