PhD Dissertation at the University of Basrah Examines the Simulation of Suspended Water Quality in the Al-Gharraf River
A PhD dissertation at the College of Engineering, University of Basra, examined the simulation of suspended water quality in the Al-Gharraf River.
The dissertation, submitted by student Muhaimin Maher Khudher, aimed to study the water quality of the Al-Gharraf River and the behavior and transport of pollutants along the river by developing an integrated model combining hydrodynamic simulation and water quality modeling.
The dissertation comprised four chapters in which the student discussed the evaluation of the impact of point pollution sources and hydraulic changes on water quality, in addition to comparing the performance of one-dimensional and two-dimensional models and studying operational scenarios for the Al-Gharraf River regulators.
