Master’s Thesis at University of Basrah Examines Two-Dimensional Direction-of-Arrival and Polarization Estimation
A master’s thesis at the College of Engineering, University of Basrah, examined two-dimensional direction-of-arrival and polarization estimation using FEKO simulations and MATLAB-based signal processing.
The thesis, submitted by student Ammar Saadoun Akoush, aimed to develop a multidimensional near-field localization framework using the Multiple Signal Classification (MUSIC) algorithm and full-wave electromagnetic simulations for the joint estimation of distance and direction of arrival.
The thesis comprised four chapters, in which the researcher investigated two orthogonal antenna arrays sensitive to elliptical and helical polarization, using Fermat-shaped configurations in free space and on a vehicle platform.
