Master’s Thesis at the University of Basrah Examines the Effects of Sulfur Content in Crude Oil and Submerged Arc Welding Parameters on the Corrosion Behavior and Mechanical Properties of API 5LX60 Steel
A master’s thesis at the College of Engineering, University of Basrah, examined the effects of sulfur content in crude oil and submerged arc welding (SAW) parameters on the corrosion resistance and mechanical properties of oil pipelines manufactured from API 5LX60 steel.
The thesis, presented by student Muslim Qasim Abdul Ridha, aimed to investigate the effects of sulfur content in crude oil and SAW parameters on the corrosion resistance and mechanical properties of API 5LX60 steel oil pipelines.
The thesis comprised five chapters, in which the researcher discussed the results of the scientific framework for selecting suitable welding parameters and extending the service life of pipelines operating in sulfur-containing environments.
