University of Basrah Hosts the Son of the Late Sayyid Hassan Nasrallah
This morning, the University of Basrah hosted Sayyid Mohammad Mahdi, son of the late martyr of the Islamic Resistance, Sayyid Hassan Nasrallah, commemorating the second anniversary of his passing. A panel discussion was held featuring responses from the late martyr's son regarding key moments from his life, his fragrant biography, his jihadist trajectory, and his intellectual, religious, and ideological legacy. The event was attended by representatives from several government institutions, civil society organizations, and a large gathering of professors, academics, and staff.
Commenting on the memory of the late martyr, the University's Vice President for Administrative Affairs, Dr. Ayman Saleh Ne'mah, stated: "In the corridors of the generous University of Basrah, among its fountains of knowledge and scholars, we raise the banner of sorrow and condolence to announce the start of the 'Week of Loyalty to the Blood of the Righteous Martyrs.' His martyrdom was a decisive turning point that revealed true devotion versus the real adversary, creating a moment of collective consciousness that reshaped ranks on the foundation of steadfastness and resistance. The culture of a leader's martyrdom is a religious tradition extending back to the martyrdom of the Noble Prophet and the Imams following him—a divine, selective culture rooted in attaining lordly honor. His martyrdom was not an absence, but a grander presence within the nation's conscience and collective mind."
Ne'mah added: "Two years after his passing, our conviction has solidified that confrontation is an unavoidable destiny. The late martyr of the resistance transformed from a local icon of jihad into a fully integrated, multi-dimensional school of thought with an international reach. High-ranking scholars and authorities in the holy cities of Najaf and Qom, as well as prominent politicians and intellectuals, have attested to the significance of his martyrdom. Peace be upon him the day he was born, the day he was martyred, and the day he is raised alive alongside the martyrs, the truthful, and the righteous."
