Investment and Development: Strategic Partnership Brings Together the University of Basrah and the Basrah Provincial Council
President of the University of Basrah, Prof. Dr. Aqeel Fadhil Hamad Al-Dahan, received Athia Zuhair Al-Tamimi, Member of the Basrah Provincial Council and Chair of the Economic Development and Investment Committee, to discuss economic integration and develop an investment roadmap based on scientific planning.
The meeting focused on preparing joint economic feasibility studies and consultancy perspectives to support major investment projects in the province, as well as highlighting the importance of creating a suitable environment for attracting investment, directing university research towards addressing real-world economic challenges, and developing the local business environment.
Prof. Dr. Aqeel Fadhil Hamad Al-Dahan affirmed that the University of Basrah is placing its expert houses, consultancy centers, and economic centers at the disposal of the Economic Development and Investment Committee to provide economic decision-makers in the province with sound scientific data and plans that help ensure the success of investment projects.
For her part, Athia Zuhair Al-Tamimi emphasized the importance of involving the academic sector in formulating the province’s economic policies, stressing the Economic Development and Investment Committee’s commitment to establishing a lasting working partnership with the university to stimulate investment activity and create new employment opportunities for the people of Basrah.
