Master’s Thesis at the University of Basrah Examines Legal Protection of the Right to Privacy
A master’s thesis at the College of Law, University of Basrah, examined the legal protection of the right to privacy in the context of digital transformation.
The thesis, presented by student Baqir Jarallah Jaber, aimed to identify the challenges facing the most prominent manifestations of the right to privacy in the context of digital transformation, namely private correspondence and conversations and personal data.
The thesis comprised four chapters, in which the researcher examined the extent to which legal safeguards, whether under international law or domestic legislation in comparative legal systems, including the American, French, and Egyptian systems, as well as Iraqi law, are capable of protecting private correspondence and conversations and personal data, and the extent to which these safeguards can address the challenges arising from digital transformation.
