Master's Thesis at the University of Basrah Examines Design-of-Experiments-Based Development for the Formulation of Nanogels
A Master's thesis at the College of Pharmacy, University of Basrah, investigated the Design of Experiments (DoE)-based development for formulating polymeric nanogels for ocular delivery, using Olopatadine Hydrochloride as a model drug.
The thesis, presented by student Fatima Raed Mohammed, aimed to develop an optimized nanogel for the sustained ocular delivery of Olopatadine Hydrochloride and to apply Quality by Design (QbD) methodology to achieve a formulation with appropriate nanoscale properties and drug release.
The thesis comprised four chapters, in which the student discussed the development of a polymeric nanogel using bovine serum albumin and chitosan for the sustained ocular delivery of Olopatadine Hydrochloride. The study relied on Quality by Design (QbD) methodology and Design of Experiments (DoE) to identify key factors and optimize the formulation.
