University of Basrah Holds Lecture on Professional Ethics for Education Students
The Center for Development and Continuing Education at the University of Basrah, Unit Six of its ninth Teaching Methods course, held a lecture on professional ethics, based on the updated curriculum for the education specialization.
The lecture, presented by Dr. Amal Mahdi Jaber, included a definition of various professional ethics, an explanation of the qualities and characteristics of a teacher, and a focus on the ethics of teaching. It emphasized that an instructor must be self-reliant and that an academic title should not be a personal achievement. Furthermore, it stressed that instructors have no right to strike and refuse to teach, as this harms students and future generations by setting a precedent. The lecture also highlighted the importance of dedication and service in all circumstances.
