University of Basrah Expands Veterinary Clinical Training Sites to Meet Program Accreditation Standards
With the start of the new academic year, the Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Basrah announced the establishment of a series of field and applied clinical training sites distributed across various areas of the governorate. This initiative aims to enhance and diversify the student training environment and expand the scope of practical experience.
This step is taken to meet quality and program accreditation standards in Iraq by enabling students to directly interact with different types of animals, receive field training in the latest diagnostic and treatment methods, and provide comprehensive veterinary care.
The new training sites are located in several key areas, including the university's animal farms, the veterinary hospital, the Qurna district site to cover the northern part of the governorate, and the equestrian center in Shatt al-Arab to develop students' skills in equine medicine and surgery.
The Dean of the College, Dr. Jalal Yasseen Mustafa, emphasized the continued expansion of these sites to supply the job market with highly qualified professionals. He noted that this expansion will mark the beginning of the activities of the Qualification and Employment Unit, which will train graduates and students and refine their scientific and practical skills in the veterinary field.
