Master’s Thesis at the University of Basrah Evaluates Water Quality in the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers
A master’s thesis at the College of Engineering, University of Basrah, evaluated the water quality of the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers and identified appropriate treatment methods based on population density.
The thesis, presented by student Ilaf Adnan Hamza, aimed to assess the water quality of the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers and correlate their physical and chemical characteristics with population density and water demand in order to determine the appropriate treatment system for each governorate.
The thesis comprised four chapters, in which the student examined turbidity, electrical conductivity, total suspended solids, pH, total hardness, dissolved oxygen, and biochemical oxygen demand, in addition to analyses of ions and other chemical elements.
