Master’s Thesis at the University of Basrah Examines Numerical Analysis of Weak Subgrade Soil Reinforced with Geogrid
A master’s thesis at the College of Engineering, University of Basrah, examined the numerical analysis of weak subgrade soil reinforced with geogrid.
The thesis, presented by student Naba Kareem Kadhim, aimed to evaluate the effect of using geogrid reinforcement on improving the performance of flexible pavements constructed over weak subgrade soil, while also investigating the effects of the geogrid’s placement and axial stiffness.
The thesis comprised four chapters, in which the student presented a three-dimensional numerical simulation using specialized software, along with a comparison of the numerical results with data obtained from published field tests.
