Master's Thesis at the University of Basrah Explores Oxadiazole Derivatives
A master's thesis at the College of Pharmacy, University of Basrah, explored the preparation, bioavailability evaluation, and molecular transport study of some novel oxadiazole derivatives.
The thesis, submitted by student Rabab Jameel Hashim, aimed to prepare, characterize, and evaluate the efficacy and selectivity of new 1,2,3-oxadiazole derivatives as potential anti-glioma agents, while also elucidating their possible molecular transport mechanism and predicting their pharmacological properties.
The thesis comprised four chapters in which the student discussed the preparation of seven novel 1,2,3-oxadiazole ring derivatives (A1-A3, B1-B4) through hydrazone formation followed by oxidative ring closure.
