Dean of the College of Marine Sciences Visits Naval Forces Command to Congratulate Its New Commander
A delegation from the College of Marine Sciences at the University of Basrah, headed by the Dean of the College, Dr. Osama Qasim Khalifa, accompanied by the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Dr. Nawras Abdul Ghani Abdul Zahra, visited the headquarters of the Naval Forces Command in Basrah.
During the visit, the delegation extended its congratulations and best wishes to the Commander of the Naval Forces, Rear Admiral Staff Hisham Taher Al-Hashimi, on assuming his new position, wishing him success in carrying out his national duties in protecting maritime sovereignty and enhancing Iraqi maritime security.
The meeting also addressed prospects for joint scientific and academic cooperation between the two sides and discussed ways to activate memoranda of understanding in the fields of marine scientific research, exchange of consultancy and technical expertise, and organize specialized training programs and workshops that contribute to developing human capabilities and enhancing the efficiency of national personnel working in the maritime sector.
For his part, the Commander of the Naval Forces expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Dean’s Office of the College of Marine Sciences for the initiative, affirming the Command’s commitment to openness and constructive cooperation with academic institutions and its support for scientific and research initiatives that contribute to the development of the marine sciences sector in Iraq.
