Master’s Thesis at the University of Basrah Examines the Optoelectronic and Thermoelectric Properties of Perovskite Compounds
A master’s thesis at the College of Education for Pure Sciences, University of Basrah, investigated the optoelectronic and thermoelectric properties of the half-metallic perovskite compounds CsVN3 and KScO3.
The thesis, presented by researcher Aliaa Sadiq Jaafar Musa, aimed to provide a comprehensive theoretical study of the structural, electronic, magnetic, and thermoelectric properties of the perovskite compounds CsVN3 and KScO3 using Density Functional Theory (DFT). It also examined their structural stability, electronic structure, and magnetic properties, and evaluated their thermoelectric transport coefficients.
The study concluded that these compounds could be further developed by investigating the effects of pressure, strain, electric fields, and crystal defects, as well as by studying thin films and superlattices. It also recommended experimentally validating the theoretical findings by synthesizing the two compounds and comparing the experimental results with the theoretical calculations.
