Master's Thesis at the University of Basrah Investigates the Effectiveness of Hyaluronic Acid in Wound Treatment
A master's thesis at the College of Pharmacy, University of Basrah, investigated the effectiveness of a combination therapy of hyaluronic acid and mupirocin in healing skin burns in rats.
The thesis, submitted by student Atiaf Ali Faisal, aimed to explore the potential of this combination gel as a promising topical option for burn treatment, given its ability to combine the antibacterial effect of mupirocin with the wound-healing properties of hyaluronic acid.
The thesis comprised four chapters in which the student discussed the effect of the hyaluronic acid combination gel in accelerating the healing of third-degree skin burns in rats by comparing its effectiveness with each individual substance and a negative control group.
