University of Basrah Researches Two Types of Vaccines Against Avian Pathogenic Bacteria
A PhD dissertation at the College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Basrah, investigated the development and evaluation of two types of vaccines against avian pathogenic Escherichia coli (APEC) through a comparative study of two vaccine types: ghost vaccines and liposomal vaccines.
The study, presented by researcher Ahmed Hamed, aimed to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of two modern vaccines against avian pathogenic E. coli and to improve the immune response for preventing infections.
The dissertation included the development of two platforms for ghost and liposomal vaccines against avian pathogenic E. coli, as well as a comparison between them and inactivated whole vaccine and crude vaccine to assess their protective efficacy.
The study concluded and recommended the necessity of developing a multivalent vaccine for APEC using the studied technologies to ensure broad and effective protection against different pathogenic strains.
