University of Basrah Organizes Workshop on Sloterdijk's Linguistic Turn
The College of Arts at the University of Basrah organized a workshop on language as an act, not a mirror, focusing on Nietzsche and Sloterdijk's linguistic turn.
The workshop aimed to introduce the philosophical issues related to the concept of language and to move beyond the traditional view of language as merely a mirror reflecting reality. It sought to understand language as a productive and influential force in shaping consciousness, while also exploring the dimensions of the linguistic turn in the thought of the German philosopher Peter Sloterdijk and its roots in the philosophy of Friedrich Nietzsche.
The workshop included a lecture by Dr. Sana Sabah Ali, who presented an analytical overview and discussed intellectual themes addressing the nature of conceptual shifts in modern and contemporary philosophy, philosophers' perspectives on language, and its impact on shaping human consciousness and culture.
