University of Basrah and Development Committee Discuss Leveraging Academic Expertise for Governorate Growth

Dr. Aqeel Fadhil Al-Dahan, President of the University of Basrah, received Sarah Dhafer Al-Husseini, Member of the Provincial Council and Head of the Development and Reconstruction Committee, in a productive meeting to explore joint cooperation and activate the university's role as a primary center of expertise supporting regional infrastructure and development plans.

During the meeting, both parties emphasized the vital need for institutional integration between the local government and the university. The University of Basrah placed its scientific, research, and engineering capabilities at the disposal of the Development and Reconstruction Committee, ensuring that academic faculty and specialized university expertise take a leading role in evaluating, planning, and monitoring public service and urban projects serving the citizens of Basra according to modern engineering and scientific standards.
