University of Basrah Organizes Awareness Workshop on Cyber Extortion and Its Dangers
The College of Computer Science and Information Technology at the University of Basrah organized an awareness workshop entitled "Cyber Extortion: Its Dangers and Ways to Prevent It," in cooperation with the Basra Conflict Resolution Committee and in coordination with the National Security and Intelligence Directorate.
The workshop aimed to raise awareness of the dangers of cyber extortion, introduce the methods used by extortionists on social media platforms, explain the legal procedures against perpetrators of these crimes, and outline mechanisms for dealing with and reporting them.
The workshop emphasized the importance of protecting privacy and personal data, and disseminating legal awareness and digital literacy among students and staff, which contributes to reducing cybercrimes and enhancing community security.
The workshop is part of the college's efforts to promote awareness of digital risks.
