University of Basrah Holds Online Seminar on University Advising and Enhancing Student Belonging
The Center for Development and Continuing Education at the University of Basrah, in cooperation with the College of Education for Women, held an online seminar on university advising and its role in familiarizing students with the history of the university and its academic and community mission.
The seminar, presented by Dr. Rafif Abdul-Hafiz Al-Riyahi, Dr. Duaa Adnan Ramadan, Dr. Sarah Ramzi Naama, and lecturer Alaa Hassan Ta’ima, aimed to prepare students for university life, enhance their sense of belonging and awareness of their rights and responsibilities, and encourage them to read, engage in dialogue, and verify information sources.
The seminar addressed mechanisms for welcoming new students, the integration of roles between faculty and staff in guiding them, developing communication channels, and addressing their needs throughout the academic year.
