College of Education for Humanities Team Secures Second Place in University of Basrah Chess Championship
The College of Education for Humanities at the University of Basrah achieved second place in the 2026-2027 Student Chess Championship, held in the sports hall at Al-Zahraa College of Medicine, with wide participation from various colleges across the university.
In this regard, the Dean of the College, Dr. Wissam Jumaa Lafteh, praised the outstanding level of performance demonstrated by the students during the championship, congratulating them on this achievement and wishing them continued success and higher rankings in future competitions.
This success is attributed to the supervision and support of the Student Activities Division at the College, as part of a vision aimed at nurturing young talent, fostering a spirit of fair competition, and strengthening ties among students from the various colleges of the University of Basrah.
