University of Basrah Holds Lecture on the Use of EDTA in Biomechanical Dentistry
The College of Dentistry at the University of Basrah held a lecture on the use of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) in biomechanical dentistry, aiming to enhance academic knowledge of modern applications in the field of dentistry.
The lecture aimed to highlight the importance of this chelating agent in cleaning the dentin surface and removing plaque, thus improving the adhesion of restorative materials to dental tissues.
The lecture, delivered by Dr. Farah Adnan Taha, included a review of the role of EDTA in exposing dentinal tubules and its applications within the concept of biomechanical dentistry, which focuses on preserving the natural tooth structure and employing conservative treatment and restorative techniques that enhance adhesion efficiency and the success of dental restorations.
