University of Basrah Organizes Workshop on Laboratory Chemical Hazards

The College of Pharmacy at the University of Basrah organized a workshop on chemical risk assessment and risk management in research laboratories.

The workshop aimed to introduce chemical hazards, identify the properties of materials used in laboratories—such as flammable, toxic, corrosive, or explosive substances—and instruct participants on reading Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).

Presented by Dr. Hussain Hassan Hussain, the workshop featured a lecture outlining the fundamental principles, procedures, and policies designed to protect personnel, laboratory facilities, and the environment from hazards arising from chemical handling.
