University of Basrah Master's Thesis Examines Hydrodynamic and Chemical Changes in the Carbon System
⠀
A Master's thesis at the College of Marine Sciences at the University of Basrah examined the hydrodynamic and chemical changes of the carbon system in the water and sediments of Khor Al-Zubair.
⠀
Submitted by student Enas Nazim Matar, the thesis aimed to deliver a comprehensive and precise scientific understanding of the dynamic interactions between water and sediments, highlighting their fundamental role in the carbon cycle within the marine and coastal environments of southern Iraq.
⠀
Comprising four chapters, the thesis presented an innovative synthesis combining physical and chemical analyses of water and sediments with an investigation into the impact of tidal movements and hydrodynamic properties on carbon behavior. The practical dimensions of the study encompassed extensive field measurements and laboratory analyses.
