University of Basrah Participates in Study to Assess Communication Tower Hazards and Emission Levels

A scientific team from the Energy and Environment Unit at the University of Basrah participated in a joint meeting with the Basrah Environment Directorate, following directives from the Environment Protection and Improvement Council at the Governorate Office, to prepare a comprehensive scientific and field study aimed at assessing the hazards of communication towers and their frequency emission levels.

Attended by the Director of Basrah Environment, Dr. Waleed Al-Mousawi, Associate Professor Dr. Hisham Lateef Swadi, and respective scientific teams, the meeting established a roadmap to initiate field surveys and implement necessary measures.

This collaboration aims to leverage the academic expertise of the University of Basrah and integrate it with the field measurements of the Environment Directorate, in order to formulate binding recommendations forcing mobile telecommunications companies to adjust their technical practices and strictly adhere to legal standards.
